    Destin: Governor Crist Announces free fishing weekend in honor of Father’s Day
Destin, FL
Fish statewide for salt water species without a license on Father’s Day weekend, June 19-20.

Governor Charlie Crist announced another free fishing weekend to encourage people, especially dads and their kids, to get out and catch salt water fish along Florida’s beautiful coastlines. 

The announcement follows a briefing on the Deepwater Horizon oil spill’s impact to Florida waters with the President in Pensacola.  All Florida residents and visitors are invited to fish statewide for salt water species without a license during the upcoming Father’s Day weekend, June 19-20. 

All other salt water fishing rules continue to apply

    Destin: Second Annual Mardi Gras on the Harbor
Destin, FLJoin HarborWalk Village on Saturday, February 13 at 2pm for the Second Annual Mardi Gras Parade. The festive parade, led by The Dent Bros and New Orleans Ramblers, will make its way down the Destin harbor and through the crowds at the party-filled village.

The finale is a post-parade party, zydeco jam and award celebration. Dance to authentic zydeco music by Terry and the Zydeco Bad Boys in the HarborWalk Village's ampitheater.

    Destin: December 20th Harbor Destin's 23rd Annual Christmas Boat Parade
Destin, FLThe Destin History and Fishing Museum is hosting its 23rd Holiday on the Harbor Destin Boat Parade Sunday, December 20th 2009. Festivities will be held that afternoon all along the Harbor and the Lighted Boat Parade and judging will start at 6pm.

Boats will start lining up in the harbor between 5-5:30pm. Mark your calendar and plan to add this event to your holiday activities. The parade can be viewed from docks and restaurants west of Grand Harbor Condominiums on Destin Harbor.
